Hello everyone! We are currently adding some capabilities to our online system to allow for online payments, invoicing and other upgrades to make it easier to manage your profile all in one place! There may be short website down time or inability to access some basic features during the next 24-48 hours, but we expect this downtime to be minimal. The upgrades will be worth it!

Thanks for your patience and supporting the South Hadley and Granby Chamber while we work to improve our service to our members!

Local Contractors Wanted for Federal Contract Bids

http://www.ccr.gov In order to submit quotes/bids, contractors need to register in the Central Contractor Register database (CCR).  A Federal Government contract cannot be awarded to any person or company who is not registered.

https://wawf.eb.mil In order to be PAID, contractors need to register in the Wide Area Work Flow database (WAWF).  The Government now requires all contractors to have the ability to be paid electronically (electronic funds transfer or EFT).

Both these registrations require companies to enter a great deal of company information.
Contractors should go to the websites to review the information that is required.  They should then collect all the information that is required for registration and return to the websites to begin the registration process.

These websites contain detailed instructions on how to register and Help contact numbers if contractors have questions.

http://www.fedbizopps.gov Contracting Officers and Specialists are required by Federal regulation to advertise Government projects that are estimated to exceed $25,000 in cost in an electronic publication managed by the U.S. General Services Administration called FedBizOpps.  It is updated daily.  Contractors interested in doing business with the Government should access this website on a regular basis.

Local interest in Government projects that are estimated to be under $25,000 is generated in several ways.  Companies that have previously completed successful similar projects on the installation may be contacted to notify them that there is a new requirement and to ask if they would be interested in submitting a quote.  A search of CCR-registered contractors is also used to research potential contractors for projects.  Also, a list of interested contractors is maintained by the Contracting Office–contractors need to submit a letter indicating interest and register in the databases listed above.

It should be noted that it is the responsibility of local companies to research the opportunities and to satisfy the requirements necessary for participation in the process.  At the present time there is no automatic notification to contractors of available projects under $25,000.

Contributing to the local economy by contracting with small businesses in the local community is a priority for the Federal Government and helps us in attaining our Small Business Goals which are assigned to us each year.  We welcome the opportunity to partner with Chicopee, the surrounding area towns, and the Western Massachusetts area.

The site may look live, but it’s not officially “launched” until January 6th, 2009. Until then you will see lots of design changes and things that may look funky and out of place as we put the final pieces of the puzzle together. Bear with us and enjoy the site JANUARY 6th, 2009
